Grand Jury Hears Chinese Smuggling Cases in New Mexico
United States court in the Sixth district of New Mexico convened with Judge E A Mann presiding. By Thursday noon the grand jury was still out as it considers numerous Chinese smuggling cases and is expected to issue indictments. Rock Island and Southwestern railways pleaded guilty to safety law violations and were fined 700 dollars plus costs. The grand jury includes residents from Santa Rosa Estancia Tucumcari Cameron and other towns.
