The Otero county Board of Commissioners acted on 68 appeals from the board of appraisers during a May session. One appeal will go to the state tax board, others may follow after adverse action. Total reductions on 1932 rolls amount to 52340.50. On April 25 the board authorized the district attorney to start condemnation talks for land along Federal Aid project 165A with bids to be opened by June 10.

A B Fall Released From Prison May Ninth
A B Fall was released from the New Mexico State Penitentiary at Santa Fe on Monday May 9 after serving a year and a day with good behavior. Convicted of bribery while a cabinet official in the Harding administration, he is reported in better health though still ill. He was brought to the Three Rivers ranch and will go to his home in El Paso.

Former Alamogordo Safeway Man Dies in Texas
Sam Parrish 23, once employed at Alamogordo Safeway, died in a Big Springs Texas hospital after an appendix operation. He is survived by a young widow and two children. Burial reportedly at his former home near Plainview Texas. Parish had left Alamogordo last December and managed a Safeway in Wink Texas before the transfer. Peritonitis followed surgery. he died within hours. Mr and Mrs Parish lived in Alamogordo for about two years.
