Cecil C Marchant Dies in Temple Texas After Illness
Cecil C Marchant 28 son of Mr and Mrs BE J Marchant of Albuquerque and son in law of Mr and Mrs W B Groom of Alamogordo died in Temple Texas after a long illness. He worked in contracting with his brother Ernest I in Santa Fe before illness. He is survived by his widow Beth Groom a daughter his parents three sisters and three brothers. Funeral held in Albuquerque with interment there. He was a member of the Presbyterian church Masonic Lodge and Shrine.

Mediteranean Allied press release credits Hugh Hill 20 of Alamogordo New Mexico with destroying a Ju 88 over Steyr Austria on April 2 1944. Hill was top turret gunner aboard an RAF Flying Fortress operating from an Italian base. He reported the engagement and noted a second Ju 88 pursued by a waist gunner before the fighter-bomber fell. Hill previously served 20 months overseas and earned his fifth Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal.

Death of Mrs Frances W Green in Mountain Park
Mrs Frances Westmoreland Green died at her home in Mountain Park on Tuesday May 9 after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Cloudcroft with interment in Mount Olivet cemetery. Born in Mississippi November 20, 1869, she married Jesse F. Green in Leon County Texas April 2, 1890. They traveled through Pecos Guadalupe Mountains Seven Rivers and the Sacramentos before settling in Fresnal and then Mountain Park. Surviving are seven children: Maude Buss Cicero Green Norris Green Jesse Faulkner Philip Green Leon Green and Roy Thomason. two children deceased. The couple were active in church and community.

Ellis Wright the No 1 game challe pion of Otero county reports on a month long patrol near Orogrande McGregor and Toni Gell ranches. He took 32 coyotes 2 bobcats 64 unborn coyotes and 2 bobcat kittens and rendered 22 pounds of fat for the defense program in March. He noted coyotes drifted from military ranges and fed on game and calves. Wright also saw 36 deer in the Sacramento River area during the trip.
