Democratic County Convention Names Delegation to Clovis
The Otero county Democratic convention met at the court house in Alamogordo last Saturday. A 15 member delegation representing areas across the county was chosen to attend the state convention in Clovis on May 16. The county nominating convention was set for June 18 at 2:00 PM at the court house with 104 delegates total. W. K. Stalcup resigned as county Democratic chairman due to ill health. Judge J. L. Lawson was elected temporary chairman. Delegates included Mrs. H. H. Virden of La Luz and Mrs. R. Wilford of Alamogordo. The roster lists D. M. Baringer as top vote-getter with 83 votes, followed by J. M. Barringer and others from Alamogordo, La Luz, Pinon, Mayhill, Weed, Mescalero, Tularosa, Three Rivers, and surrounding areas.

Town considers ditch tax for Alamo to fund irrigation
Town Board of Trustees faces a proposed annual levy on every fronting lot in Alamo to cover deficits in the La Luz irrigation department.
