Passing of William King Stalcup
W. K. Stalcup died in San Antonio Texas on March 27 at age eighty one. Funeral services were held at Geren & Leadinghaus Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Lacy Simms with interment at Mount Vista Cemetery. He was a longtime Alamogordo resident, pioneer county official, Democratic leader, founder of Pioneer Abstract Co., and survived by his daughter Frances Insall and granddaughter Shirley.

Lee Hinkle Burned in Cox Canyon House Fire
Lee Hinkle sustained severe burns Sunday morning when his house caught fire and he was trapped in his bedroom. His wife and daughter also burned but less severely. Hinkle is a track overseer for the Russia branch out from Cloudcroft for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was taken to the Rosseau Hospital in Alamogordo.
