A three year success story features S. C. Driver of Goldsboro North Carolina who started with three cents and a second hand car. He used nine acres at the Goldsboro Fair Grounds bought pigs with $10 earned from selling his car and now reports 800 pounds of meat four shoats a sow five pigs fifty laying hens and abundant vegetables and potatoes.

Death of Mrs. Ralph Fleck in El Paso

Mrs. Ralph Fleck died at her home in El Paso on March 23 after a year long illness. Funeral services were held March 24 at Peak-Hagedon chapel. She leaves husband and daughter Lillian, with a long history in Orogrande Otero County and service on the county school board. Previously a El Paso teacher, she was valued by a wide circle of friends.

Sanity Hearing Leads to Commitment in Las Cruces Case

A complaint against Tom Kilgore led to a sanity hearing before Judge Frenger in Las Cruces. The judge issued commitment papers sending Kilgore to the State Asylum for the Insane in Las Vegas. Sheriff Danley Deputy Green and Kilgore's brother accompanied the transfer to Las Cruces, with others later escorting him to Las Vegas.

Martinez Convicted in Larceny Trial at Justice Barringer Court

George Martinez faced a jury in Justice Barringer's court last Friday for larceny. George Salle, a contractor, testified to the loss of a large tarp and other goods. Ed E. Gardner defended the defendant. The jury found him guilty. He was sentenced to thirty days in jail plus costs.

Carrizozo Man Pleads Guilty to Car Theft

Ike Solomon of Carrizozo New Mexico pleaded guilty in Justice Barringer's court to stealing Clyde Crowe's Chevrolet sedan from New York Avenue. The car was later found stripped in Lincoln County. Solomon awaits district court after bond set at 1250 dollars and remains in county jail unable to post.

Foster Thornton Pleads Guilty to Assault on Five Year Old Child

In a case heard by Justice Barringer, Foster Thornton pleaded guilty to assault and battery on his five year old son. The child was whipped with a strap, striking an eye but later deemed savable. Dolan Home Robbed Of Large Quantity Clothing
