He shaped local papers starting as Capitan News later Carrizozo News and served as county superintendent of schools. He held posts as postmaster deputy treasurer and Red Cross chairman and was a Knights of Pythias leader. Survived by wife Meda West and two daughters.
Artesia Advocate reports Dr. J. Buck, a well known Avis resident, had a light stroke of paralysis on Tuesday and was taken to Artesia for medical care. His condition improved by yesterday with no serious outcomes anticipated unless complications arise.
The Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce reports progress in backing a slight northward adjustment of the White Sands road to pass the Las Cruces route. Assistant Highway Engineer F G Healy writes Governor Seligman that a locating party will survey March 21 1932 to align with public road plans, with Governor Seligman remaining firm in support.
