Two subdivision plans were presented to the board of Trustees last Thursday. The 21 acre plan by Duncan Campbell and Roger Oglesbee for F. T. West north of Lover's Lane and between the School for the Blind grounds and Florida Ave faced over 100 lots and was rejected for two-street lots without alleys or utility easements. The Tompkins plan for Block 91, now one acre lots, was rejected to require a minimum 6,000 square foot lot area. Campbell said FHA approval exists for loans and GI Bill housing plans are pursued with paving and sewer improvements planned.

Services Held Friday For Mrs Beasley
Funeral services for Mrs Annie Cox Beasley who died at home March 15 were held Friday at 2 pm in the First Baptist Church with Reverends Gam bles and Keating officiating. Interment followed at Monte Vista cemetery. Beasley born December 25 1883 in Franklin Texas married Joe W Beasley in 1904. They moved to Alamogordo in 1920 and she served as president of the Women s Missionary Society. Surviving are two children Sue and John two grandchildren four sisters and one brother. Out of town attendees included Mrs Will Henderson Mrs Ellis Henderson and Tom Walston.

Fire and smoke heavily damaged a residence at 209 Maryland Avenue Monday morning. Fire chief Aaron Basa said the blaze started in an overstuffed chair in the front room. Firefighters were dispatched around 9 30 a m to the scene.

Barbara Shoemaker daughter of O O Shoemaker of Tenth Street won a contest to determine which student would represent Alamogordo High School at Margaret Trumans press conference last Friday. She joined El Paso Times and Herald Post reporters in interviewing Miss Truman upon her arrival from Phoenix for her Saturday concert in the Texas city. Shoemaker called Miss Truman charming natural gracious and unstrained in answering questions. Alamogordo residents who heard Miss Truman's concert said they enjoyed it and were pleasantly surprised.
