Ray Coleman Loses Father in Silver City
Ray Coleman learned of his father John Coleman’s death in Silver City after a heart attack and stroke struck around 11:00 p m Tuesday. John Coleman, about 73, had been a cattle inspector. funeral arrangements were pending. Survived by wife, two daughters, one brother and one sister. He passed away shortly after midnight Wednesday.

District Judge W. T. Scoggin Improves in Las Cruces Hospital
District Judge W. T. Scoggin of this district is seriously ill in Memorial General Hospital Las Cruces. He has past the crisis and is improving after a relapse of a stomach disorder last week. He has required blood transfusions since last Saturday and is not receiving visitors.

Car Salesman Dies In Highway 54 Collision
Francis Utley a 22 year old salesman for Anderson Motor Co of Alamo Gordo and El Paso was killed early Monday when his 1949 Mercury crashed into the rear of a parked truck thirty miles south of here on Highway 54. Utley who was unmarried left El Paso with Carl Parker of Holloman Air Force Base earlier. Parker survived after swerving into a borrow pit. The truck was owned by Leobardo Hernandez of Juarez and two men plus a small boy fled the scene. Utley’s body was shipped to Oklahoma City for funeral services Saturday Mullins O Dell Funeral Home.
