Earl Johnson Found Dead In Hot Springs Incident
Earl Johnson youngest son of the late Johns Johnson of Tularosa in Otero county was found dead at Hot Springs. His throat was slashed and officials initially indicated self harm but later considered possible foul play. The death is under investigation and the body was taken to La Luz for burial.

New Mexico CCC Camps Set April Enrollment Quota
New Mexico assigns 752 openings for CCC camps in April with enrollments starting April 7. Tenancy Problems in New Mexico
The 1935 census shows 41% of 7 857 tenant farm operators in New Mexico lived on the same property for under a year. By 1940 there were 34 105 farm operators and 5 811 tenant operators, with concentration in Eddy and Roosevelt counties. Riley Woods Fatally Injured in Roswell Auto Crash
Riley Woods a young rancher from the San Andreas section was fatally injured in an automobile accident near Roswell Tuesday night. He was driving a goat herder to Roswell when the car skidded on a slippery pavement and overturned. His companion escaped unharmed. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at Tularosa.
