New Mexico Institute wins national blind schools athletic trophy
At Alamogordo February 22 the New Mexico Institute for the Blind hosted an annual athletic meet under the National Association of Schools for the Blind. Vincero Gashtea, 11, and Frank Chaves, 19, starred among seven top scorers as New Mexico claimed first with 17 points, New York second, and Massachusetts third.

Oliver Lees Trial Ends in Favor of Defendant
United States Commissioner Sidney M. Parker presided over the case against Oliver M. Lee in Alamogordo. The trial focused on whether he should be sent to St Joseph to face an indictment for conspiracy related to desert land entries. The court ruled for Mr Lee, blocking removal to Missouri. Refund on School Bonds Cut Interest Rate for District
The board of school directors and agent J. M. Hawkins arrange to refund the ten thousand dollar issue from ten years ago. Investors will redeem the old six percent bonds and take new five percent bonds, saving one percent over twenty years. These investors also bought the prior fourteen thousand dollar issue. Most nearby districts pay six percent on their bonds.
