Washington targets broader citizen participation in the Seventh War Loan Drive running May 14 to June 30. The plan sets a $4 billion goal for Series E War Savings Bonds, dubbed Peoples Bonds, the highest quota for the security. The overall $14 billion target mirrors the Sixth War Loan, with $7 billion from individuals and $7 billion from non-bank investors.
Funeral services for the late Harry Ross known as Hal Ross were conducted by Rev. Ernest J. Sloan at the Geren Leadinghaus Chapel on Thursday March 8 at 2 30 p m. He was born in Tennute Pa and was 67 at death. A lifelong bachelor, he lived in Alamogordo 18 years and was a brother of the late Percy A. Ross. Interment followed in the local cemetery. His sister in law Mrs P A Ross came from San Francisco to attend and manage his affairs.

The U.S. Supreme Court in a 7 to 2 decision sustains Wage Hour Administrator Walling’s power to prohibit home work as a safeguard for the 40 cents an hour minimum wage. The ruling notes sweatshop abuse from home embroidery and aims to enforce wage standards nationwide. Justice Wiley Rutledge wrote the opinion upholding Walling’s enforcement.
A meeting of the District Advisory Board was held at the Grazier office with local members present including T. A. Spencer chairman V. Del Cuerto vice chairman R. D. Champion secretary E. J. Isaacks and regional grazier Greenslit. Spencer and Lovelace were elected as members of the State Advisory Board and Isaacks and Del Cuerto as alternates.

Senator O'Mahoney and Representative Kefauver urged halting monopoly growth to preserve economic freedom. Speaking on an American Federation of Labor forum broadcast by NBC, they linked monopolies to World War II dictatorships and warned against concentration of economic power.

Five sons and a grandson of Mrs O A Larrazolo served as pallbearers at the funeral of the widow of a former New Mexico governor and US senator. Carlos Letarrayulo of Oakland returned after 20 years to join brothers Eliodoro of Mexico City and O A Jr of Culican, with Lieut Paul Larrazolo home in Jenve and Rafael a naval attaché in California.

Lieutenant Ern i Sanders of Alamogordo is awarded the Bronze Star Medal by Major Verne Mudge for meritorious retirement in connection with First Cavalry Division operations against the enemy in the Admiralty Islands.
Mr and Mrs Manuel Salas of Alamogordo have learned from the War Department that their son borel Ogonado boy listed wounded on the European front. Details of the injuries are not yet known.
Mie Ida McCommis, recently reformed from Lordsburg, returns home as her son S8/Sgt Max I MeCommis of the Eighth Air Force is decorated with an Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal for meritorious achievement in sustained bomber operations over Germany and occupied territories. Max is a grandson of Mi feta McConmmisa, a pioneer president here.
The Senate Judiciary Committee led by Chairman Pat McCarran announced last week that the Federal Constitution amendment framing equal rights for women will be submitted to the people only after victory by the tigehitla men returns home.
