5-Cent Gas Tax To Be In Force Year On March 7
Santa Fe March 3 New Mexico will complete its first year under a 5 cent gasoline tax on March 7 Mary Martolino in charge of the tax collection said the tax has not reduced consumption and may rise due to highway improvements. The state also could enter the wholesale and retail gasoline business if prices rise. New Mexico is among five states with a 5 cent tax with Arkansas Florida Kentucky and South Carolina.
