Father of Mrs. Steele Dies in Butte Auto
John P. O'Hara father of Mrs. O A Steele of Alamogordo was found dead in his car in Butte Montana likely from a heart attack. His brother Bishop Edwin V. O Hara flew to Butte to bring the body to Portland for burial. O Hara had been visiting his daughter and was en route to Hamilton Montana when he died. News reached Mrs Steele Tuesday and her husband returned from New York to join the funeral. The Steeles left for Portland Wednesday February 5. O Hara was a noted historian of the early northwest.

In Korea Vet Killed In One Car Crash Near Tularosa
John Adler Sandoval 20 of Alamogordo died in a one car accident five miles north of Tularosa on Highway 54 Saturday afternoon. The car overturned twice on wet pavement. Louis Stogden and Reyes Martinez, both from Alamogordo, were injured. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery Carrizozo. Sandoval was a Korean War veteran and survived by his mother and two sisters.

Funeral Services Held for J. H. Dorndorf March 5
Funeral services for Jesse Henry Dorndorf 75 of Mountain Park were held at Mullins-O'Dell chapel at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 5. Dorndorf died March 3 in Mountain Park. Born June 14 1875 in Corning Missouri he lived with the James Farrells of Effingham Kansas as a child. He worked in Canon City Colorado as foreman of a fruit farm from 1901 to 1939 then moved to Mountain Park to oversee the F O Mackey ranch. He married Loretta Rhoads January 3 1904 in Canon City. Surviving are wife Loretta and daughter Opal Dorndorf both of Mountain Park. A daughter Violet Lee and a grandchild preceded him in death. He was a member of the Methodist church and IOOF at Canon City. Rev Henry Van Valkenburg officiated. Burial was at Monte Vista cemetery with Mullins-O'Dell in charge. 11 attendees included George Haile Bus Abbott Gentry Roberson J B Denton Wiley Smith and L Towner.

The 1952 Red Cross fund drive began in Otero county on Saturday March 1 with B. J. Edwards as general chairman and Wayne Phelps in charge of publicity. Rotarians handle business district collections while the Sodality of Children of Mary led by Elena Baldonado will seek residents for membership and donations in the south section. A county goal of 3600 is set, with community chairmen named across Alamogordo and surrounding areas. Last year the drive raised 3642.40, two thirds at Holloman AFB.
