Lee D. Martin traffic manager of the association will address Alamogordo residents next Monday about the New Mexico West Texas Fruit and Truck Growers. The meeting aims to inform growers and merchants about cooperative efforts and market developments in the region.
The New Mexico West Texas Fruit and Truck Growers Association formed in El Paso Texas with headquarters there and a Las Cruces branch organized last week. Directors include Otis L. Williams J M Walker A F Kerr and others. The charter sets 30 year existence and stock at 10000 dollars with one share per member and rates for handling produce. A meeting in Alamogordo scheduled for Monday at 2:30 pm will discuss membership and cooperation.
Dr Frederick Friedmann claims his tuberculosis cure uses bacilli from turtle sacs and vows to share the method with the world. He consented to let U S officials test his bacilli and demonstrate efficacy before Marine Hospital Service physicians. He notes patient cure times span months and seeks fair compensation to fund further work.
Seventh grade entertainment set for March 7 in the high school auditorium with 10 cent admission. Senior Class Play Why Not Jim at the high school auditorium March 5. only 200 reserved tickets at 24 cent admission. Good music between acts promised.

The Mountain Road between High Rolls and Alamogordo is nearly finished with grading in about two weeks. Finishing touches include culverts and several miles of railing along canyon edges. The Taft signed commission report declares the 103d meridian and 32d parallel as the true boundary. Texas gains the est and south lines of New Mexico, ending a 50 year dispute dating to the Clark boundary of 1858.
Supervising engineer Louis C. Hill announced that water will be stored at the Elephant Butte dam in 1915. He said work is progressing rapidly, with at least 200 feet cleared from the west end by early next month and concrete work to begin in April, though the dam may not be fully finished by 1915.
Albuquerque officials carry a special invitation to New York for Dr. Friederich Friedmann of Berlin to come to Albuquerque and continue his tuberculosis cure work with hospital support from the Albuquerque Commercial Club. Local victims suffer in all stages of the disease and oil and gas exploration grows in Dayton County.
The plan calls for a water surface irrigation system costing about 25 dollars per acre if proven successful. The J L Crossley farm, about three quarters of a mile from Moriarty, is chosen to demonstrate the method. Subscriptions would cover material only if the company does not donate it, with freight and installation to be arranged. Crossley will be bond‑bound to keep adequate water in pipes and ensure crops receive proper attention.
After March 1 the Pullman Car company will not furnish glasses on any cars in the United States except in drawing rooms and state rooms. Passengers must supply their own drinking vessels. The new rule is a federal sanitary regulation Pullman will strictly enforce.
The county salaries bill 104 passed the Senate on last Monday under suspension of rules by a 30 to 13 vote and was quickly returned to the House. The suspension vote was 39 to 0. Amendments were rejected and the bill passed in the Senate last Friday by 20 to 4, with veto prospects depending on the governor.
Cloudcroft reports T V Dykes and family of Kingsland Arkansas plan to settle locally after living here years ago. Dr Alderson of Iowa and Professor White of Mt Park visited. Ollie Thomason to teach James Canon school starting April 1. Scott B Williams of Williams York in Alamogordo El Paso for firm business. J W Belk and Lee Wright visited Cloudcroft. Rev H L Wheeler of Tularosa in town.
Delegates from Artesia including Gayle Talbot president of a new oil company and J Frank Newkirk Artesia postmaster toured Alamogordo on the way home from El Paso. They joined a Pecos valley boosters meeting to secure a auto road from Pecos valley to El Paso via Artesia and Hope with El Paso backing the route to the Otero county line. Pecos valley would push to the Eddy county line while heavy sand across 49 miles in Otero county is a major hurdle.
The senate approved the Indian appropriation bill totaling about 13.66 million dollars, with 10.10 million from the treasury and the rest reimbursable. Senator Fall proposed an amendment to bar transferring Apache prisoners from Fort Sill to New Mexico and Arizona, but the amendment was not adopted after procedural points were dropped. Local notes include track repairs on the Alamogordo and Sacramento railroad near Cloudcroft, and obituaries for a few days old baby of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Van Dyke.
