New Rule on Oil Royalties Affects University Funds
Santa Fe June 16 The University of New Mexico would share oil royalties with state institutions under a proposed constitutional amendment if enacted. State Lands Commissioner E R Swope’s rule pools all revenues into a permanent fund and prorates them by acres, potentially delaying UNM access until the amendment takes effect. Senator A B Renehan expects ratification to be probable, though federal consent would be needed to implement after ratification.
