Passenger Train Robbed by Lone Bandit on El Paso Southwestern
Eastbound train after Carrizozo was stopped by a lone highwayman who forced the porter and tourists to surrender valuables. No injuries reported as the robber fled with the cash and a list of losses later totaled with several small amounts and one $43.00 loss. A $2,500 reward was posted for arrest and conviction.

Board of Equalization Concludes and Road Petitions Considered
County commissioners in special session last week addressed the board of equalization and multiple petitions. Elections were ordered for Alamogordo incorporation on August 2, with W. K. Stalcup as judge. Bonds and bondsmen were approved, grocer C. Meyer designated for transfers, and road line changes for Alamogordo–Tularosa approved. The Armory Dance Company I presented an enjoyable program at the armory Monday night. Strong winds and flying sand kept many away, yet the crowd in attendance was large enough to make the event pleasant.

The first union service of the hot season was held at the M. E. church south with Rev. J. H. Doran delivering an excellent sermon. Storm threats kept the crowd small. next Sunday evening services move to the Christian church with Rev. George H. Givan officiating. Simon Kotosky of High Rolls visited Alamogordo this week.
