E R Armijo, 67, died at his Alamogordo home on Saturday July 1 after a stroke. Funeral Tuesday July 4 at St Marys. Born April 14 1877 in Limitar NM he lived in Alamogordo since 1915 and served as courthouse janitor. He survived by wife, two daughters Katy Orapenzo and Mrs Mark Sanchez and six sons J I Armijo Jermo Armijo Edward and Jerry Armijo plus David and Hipolito overseas. Eight grandchildren, a sister in Denver and brothers in California attended. two other brothers did not.

Gunfight at Bell Canyon Sawmill Leaves Man Dead
Jay Brady 27 died from a sunshot wound and Chester Stanridge 27 was hospitalized with a lac erated arm after a quarrel at a Bell Canyon sawmill northeast of Cloudcroft. Coroner Ho KB Howerton Sheriff W Parker and Deputy Ray Prather led an inquest. Brady stabbed Stanridge on the arm and relatives in Antlers Oklahoma were notified.

Captain Frank L. Wayne a native of Otero County died in Dorchester England June 24 from injuries in a vehicle accident. He entered service in 1917 and had been overseas since May this year. He led a transportation unit at a base in England and is survived by wife Hazel McMain and two sons in Albuquerque along with several brothers and extended family.
