Two Holloman Men Parachute To Safety In Sacramentos
Two Holloman Air Force Base flyers parachuted to safety after a B 26 bomber crash near the Sacramento Range in Carrizozo New Mexico. Captain Frederick M Worth of Bristol Virginia and S Sgt Willie Woods of Sunflower Mississippi were unhurt. A ground search located the crew and rescue brought Woods to safety at dawn. A board of officers will investigate the crash cause.

Canyon Road Paving Completed by Local Residents
Canyon Road residents have finished paving funded by voluntary payments from property owners. Leo Cadenhead led the project with thanks to Alamogordo and County officials for equipment and maintenance support. The group, advised by James A. Funeral services for Robert Alfred Holden age 63 were held Wednesday at Mullins-Hamilton Chapel. Holden died December 30 in Portland Oregon from a heart attack and is buried in Monte ta Cemetery. He was formerly of Alamogordo and worked as a carpenter and painter. Surviving relatives include sisters Mrs A H Allen and Mrs Ray Prather of Alamogordo, two more sisters in California, a brother Milton Holden of Truth or Consequences NM, and a pioneer Alamogordo couple as parents.

Fined in Cloudcroft New Year's Eve fight at Skyline Inn
A New Year's Eve brawl at Cloudcroft's Skyline Inn led to 15 arrests and property damage including a smashed front door plate glass. Alamogordo men Pete Torres Brurfson Curry and Louis Preciado were fined 20 each for disorderly conduct after appearing in Alamogordo court. Paul Valadez remained jailed on a 1000 bond for larceny of a 1950 Ford from the inn. Juveniles were detained. one faced potential reform school terms. Sacramento Peak soldiers were handed to military authorities. James Sewell is the inn's new owner and previously faced a burglary attempt at the rear entrance.

The Indian Agency at Mescalero investigates the death of Abner Treas who died Sunday night at 6 30 in the hospital. Preliminary reports suggest exposure. Treas born July 6 1902 at Mescalero. Funeral by Father John of Tularosa at St Joseph Mission, Mescalero cemetery. Survived by wife Geneva five daughters two sons four sisters and his parents.
