Pioneer Mrs Sanders Rites Held in Weed Community
Delusia Sanders widow of Felix T. Sanders died in Carlsbad December 29 1947. Funeral and burial were at Weed December 22 with large turnout. Six grandsons served as pallbearers. Born June 17 1866 in Irvington Georgia she and Felix T Sanders moved to the Sacramento mountains in 1885. Surviving children include F A Sanders Birdie Cridebring Vina Jones and A M Sanders. She left twenty grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.

Nathan Bassil Taylor, 57, died at his home after months of illness. He lived in Alamegado a year, moved from Artesia in 1946, and worked at Callaway Texaco Station. Born March 17, 1890 in Cascade Virginia, he leaves a widow Missour Jones and two sons Harold Taylor and M B Taylor. Funeral services were held at Leadinghaus Mullins chapel with pallbearers former business associates.

Ira Alva Spohr 52 of Waterloo Iowa was found dead in a tourist cabin outside Ruidoso on U S 70. A coroner's jury ruled he was asphyxiated when a stove burned on high and a rag blocked a vent in the door.
