Huffman Bros. Suffer Severe Fire Loss
A fire in Huffman Bros grocery warehouse was discovered around 11 30 Tuesday night. The flames smoldered for hours, damaging stock but not the front of the store. Loss is about 1500 with partial insurance. The Telephone company moved its central station to 12th and Michigan and secured a long term lease.

Death of Aged Sexton at Mount Vista Cemetery
Luis Rayos the 70 year old sexton of Mount Vista Cemetery died in Alamogordo after a brief illness. He had been injured when a wagon horse ran away at the cemetery last Saturday, causing three broken ribs and later pneumonia. Funeral services were held Wednesday with many friends in attendance. Rayos, a longtime Alamogordo resident and native of Old Mexico, was noted for his faithful service.
