Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Alamo Gordo for Martha Champion mother of R D Champion of Tularosa. The service was led by Rev F J Johnston of Tularosa with pallbearers P S Kirk D C Simms G W Clayton W G Rubright D E Wynn and Charlie Thomas. Martha Eliza Fulton Champion born October 19 1861 in Adams County Ohio moved to Pontiac Illinois with her parents and later to Mattoon Illinois with her husband Edward D Champion a Methodist minister. She died December 16 1942 in Tularosa aged 81 survived by her husband two sons R D Champion of Tularosa and H E Champion of Mattoon Illinois one daughter Mrs Mary Emily Champion Temple of Bushnell Illinois eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Mattoon and active in the Woman's Society of Christian Service.

Cattle Growers Postpone Quarterly Executive Board Meeting

Pioneer stockman Arthur McNatt dies at home in Alamogordo
Arthur Augustus McNatt died suddenly Tuesday night at about 10 o clock at his home in eastern Alamogordo after years of illness and a previous horse injury. Funeral services were held Thursday at Geren Leadinghaus Chapel with interment in Mount Vista cemetery. He was born August 19, 1878 in Montague County Texas and moved to Alamogordo in 1911, where he operated a stock farm with his son. Surviving are wife Minnie Nations McNatt, children C A McNatt Ad Painter J B Clark five grandchildren and five siblings. The community noted his jovial spirit and wide ranching ties.
