Fifth Graders Stage Operetta Christmas Around the World

Car Demolished Christmas Eve Accident Here
Robert Cropp a 20 year old airman of Holloman Air Force Base suffered a dislocated hip and broken pelvis when the car he drove a 1946 Mercury convertible left the pavement sped 180 feet then overturned twice struck a bridge and skidded just south of the city limits. The vehicle owned by Roosevelt Sanders of Holloman Air Force Base went 75 mph and Cropp was thrown 15 feet before being taken to William Beaumont hospital in El Paso for treatment.

Fire Siren To Be Moved To City Hall Tower
Arrangements for removing the siren from the Community Center Building roof to a tower at City Hall are complete. It will be relocated within a few days after city officials ordered the move due to complaints about loudness. The bell tower at City Hall has been extended two feet higher to ensure even sound distribution, and a telephone operator sounds the siren on fire reports.

Will Plead Guilty To Felony Charge In Tularosa Case

Unlucky Plymouth In Two Holiday Accidents Near Holloman
Donald L. Monk of Holloman Air Force Base escaped injury when his 1940 Plymouth overturned after failing to stop for a car driven by Clayte Edgington of Mesilla Park on December 25 near the Holloman entrance. While being towed, a 1946 Pontiac driven by Dewey H. Meeks struck the rear of the wrecked vehicle. no injuries were reported.

Catholic service held at Mescalero Church with Father Martian Bucher. Burial included a Holloman AFB firing squad. Survived by wife Manuella and seven children. Via was a World War II veteran and a candidate for tribal judge in the December 30 election. he was injured December 12 in Carrizo district while hauling Christmas trees for the tribe.
