Will Pay In Gold To Hold Americans
Machinists at the Mexican International line shops near Eagle Pass are informed that from December 1 they will receive standard American wages on a gold basis. Machinists will earn $3.00 per day and boilermakers $3.50, payable in American money or Mexican silver at the monthly exchange rate. The change, a new departure in Mexican railroading, arises from Americans no longer being kept at old rates and applies only to Americans.
