Artificial insemination tests start in stock raising
In Portales New Mexico December 12 Roosevelt county cattlemen and Eastern New Mexico College launched a major artificial insemination project. The plan centralizes semen from three registered Jersey bulls imported from Arizona Oregon and California. Semen distribution costs six dollars a dose with five dollars for local cows including technician services. The program aims to inseminate up to eighteen hundred cows annually and improve blooded strains while reducing feeding costs.
