Paramount Pictures Shoots Bombed Cattle near Alamogordo Range
Paramount Pictures photographer E. J. Edwards and state cattle inspector Alfred Hunter visited ranches near the Alamogordo Bombing Range to photograph cattle affected by atomic tests. Edwards captured images of cattle, two cats, and a calf from the bombing area. Seventy two head from the range were shipped to Oak Ridge Town for further War Department observations.

D V Daulton Dies in El Paso Hospital
Daniel V. Daulton of Alamogordo died in an El Paso hospital on December 6 after surgery. Funeral services were held at Geren Leadinghaus Mortuary with Rev. Abercrombie and Rev. Thomas Barcus officiating. He is survived by his widow, son Daniel Jr., two steps, five grandchildren, and several siblings. He moved from Arkansas to Alamogordo in 1934 and worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was active in the Methodist Church and Railroad Brotherhood.

Parm Prices Rise Beyond 1909 14 Averages
The USDA reports farm prices for all products on November 15 were 100 percent above the 1909 14 average, compared with 96 percent a year ago and the highest since August 1920 except for June and July this year when 101 percent. Mrs. Lillie Gilliland Dies in Mayhill After Long Residence
Mrs. Lillie I Gilliland a longtime Otero County resident died at her Mayhill home December 4 1945. Born in Texas on December 28 she moved to the Sacramento Mountains in 1887 and later lived in La Luz Alamogordo and the San Andres. She leaves six children two brothers a sister nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren with nineteen at the funeral and sixteen present.

Mrs Elizabeth Work of Cloudcroft was a patient from Thursday through Monday with the flu. Coriasco Balderamo of Cloudcroft received treatment for a finger injury. John Henry Thomas of Alamo rowdo underwent a tonsillectomy. Florenzio Oresico of Mescalero was hospitalized for emergency intestinal obstruction and is recovering. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Frank Moreno weighing 5 lbs 15 oz on December 5. A baby boy to Mr and Mrs Bill Harerow died shortly after birth.

Route 54 Boosters Plan Santa Fe Meeting For Highway 641
Delegates from six New Mexico towns and El Paso will gather at the La Ponda in Santa Fe for a cocktail and banquet to discuss postwar Highway 641 with Governor Dempsey Lieut. Gov. Jones and the State Highway Commission. The event is sponsored by the Otero County Boosters Club with about 25 delegates expected from Otero County and nearby chambers. Funds for the route’s postwar construction remain undisclosed.
