Survived by wife two stepdaughters Mrs Oliver Todd of Fort Worth and Miss Ruth Gooch of Oakland a brother Albert McCarty Pawhuska sisters Mrs Alva Bondy and Mrs J F Hatton of Houston. Rev Jesse F. Watson officiated pallbearers John Lewis Foster Exline T L Ledbetter and Alvie White.
The public is invited to a Christmas concert at the New Mexico School for the Blind on Tuesday at 8 15 pm. The hour and a quarter program features carols old and new sung by junior and senior choruses and a male octet, plus orchestra piano and violin solos. Excerpts from The Messiah include three choruses and solos by faculty from the music department.
The Alamogordo Woman's Club sponsors a Charity Ball on December 2 at the Community Center to raise funds for Associated Charities of Alamogordo. Music by Les Weber and his band at El Paso. proceeds go to those in need. Members urge ticket purchase and attendance.
A large group of stockmen gathers in Alamogordo for the election of advisory board members of U S Grazing Service District No 5. Regional Grazier Ed Pierson of Albuquerque and District Grazier Emil Blanknagle of Deming attend. Elections in afternoon will select two cattle reps and one sheep and goat rep from the Mesa District.
Two intermural games set for Saturday morning at the high school gym. The Ninth grade or lower? plays opening round section at 9 o clock with Fifth B versus Sixth C and Seventh grade plus Fifth C clash. Past results show Seventh B beat Sixth A 17 to 6 and Eighth A defeated Seventh A 34 to 17. The tournament progresses until a champion is crowned with about 200 boys participating.

Mr and Mrs O O Collins returned Sunday after a several weeks business trip and visit to Hartshorne Oklahoma.
Capt. Fred Evans stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky will transfer to Fort Riley Kansas and plans an Alamogordo visit for the holiday season with his parents Dr and Mrs F B Evans. His sister Mrs Ralph Thomas of Pampa is mentioned as part of the family.
A Texas guest will arrive December 15 to visit her parents and her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kinnison. Mr. Thomas will join for the holiday stay.
Mr and Mrs C H Haynes left Wednesday for California for a two months visit with their son Henry Haynes and family at San Pedro and with their daughter and son in law Capt and Mrs T E Burton of Van Nuys. Mr and Mrs Green who recently came here from North Carolina occupy the Haynes residence in their absence.
Mrs Myrtle Guess returned to Brady this week after visiting her mother Mrs A A Langford, other relatives, and accompanied by her mother and sister Mrs Tom Low and two children. They were hosted by Mr and Mrs Terrell Guess and left Brady early in the week.

Mr and Mrs Benton Daugherty report their son Houston is recovering satisfactorily in a Dallas Veterans hospital from a skull injury after firing a rifle at an unexploded flare found near Mitchell ranch northwest of here. Doctors say no operation is needed and he may return home this weekend. Benny Daugherty accompanied him to Dallas and returned home days later.
Mr. and Mrs. Omer Kersey from Artesia spent last week visiting their daughters Thelma Kersey and Judy Holcomb, wife of Roy Holcomb.
The Town Board authorized a call for bids to pave about 65 blocks in a project that has cleared engineering and legal steps. The streets include Vermont Ave Florida Ave Tenth and Ninth Streets and parts of New York and Delaware Aves with completion by May 15. Bids are to be opened January 2.
The Tularosa Wildcats start their season Friday night at home led by transfer Melton from Corona and five experienced players. Coach Fred Sells expects Melton to battle for a starting role as Tularosa aims for a strong district run. Scrimmages this week included a workout against an Air Base fire squad as the team builds cohesion.

The Hospital Survey Division approved the preliminary application for federal funds for the Otero County Hospital. Dr. James R. Scott said the same for Carrizozo and Ruidoso joint hospital plans. Applications moved to Dallas for review by a U S Surgeon General field office.
W. J. Jackson of the M. R. Prestridge Lumber Co. told the Alamogordo Rotary Club the lumber industry is hazardous and suffers from price swings and tax policy. He warned that mills cannot build inventories, causing shortages and an unsatisfactory distribution network. He called for halting the wage and lumber price cycle gradually.
Miss Maude Oliver director of music for Alamogordo grade schools urges parents and patrons to raise 1500 for a new grand piano for the high school auditorium. A December 17 program kicks off the drive with a rhythm band cantata and novelty songs to attract donations.
Tucumcari Rattlers travel to meet the Alamo Tigers on Thursday at Tiger gym in an intersectional clash then host the Cathedral Irish of El Paso Saturday. Scouts will have jurisdiction over traffic during the noon period near city schools and at unpatrolled times, with some scouts assigned to each intersection.

Lt Col Albert Braun formerly of Mescalero and recently stationed in San Antonio Texas is being transferred to Honolulu according to word to friends.
