Funeral services for Mrs H M Hardcastle were held Wednesday at Mount A cemetery with Rev J E Fuller officiating. Hardcastle, a pioneer resident of High Rolls, died Wednesday morning at her home aged 71, leaving children and a large circle of friends. The family lived for many years on a farm near Rolls and were early settlers in the area.

Rain and Snow Persist Across Mountain Districts

Death of Harvey D Cory in Alamogordo
Harvey D Cory aged 25 died at his home in Alamogordo on Monday December 7. Funeral services were held at the family home 8th and Virginia conducted by Rev Earl Ro Keating, with burial in the local cemetery. He was born July 10 1906 in Dry Prong Louisiana and had lived in New Mexico since youth, moving from Carlsbad to Artesia before settling in Alamogordo in 188. He belonged to the Baptist faith since age fourteen and is mourned by his parents Mr and Mrs W A Cory two brothers Olen A of High Rolls and Lewin of Alamogordo a sister in law Mrs Olen A Cory and a grandmother Mrs Lillia Cory.

Death of Mrs Susie Tuton in Otero County
The death of Mrs Susie Tuton, 57, occurred Wednesday after an operation at an El Paso hospital. She had lived in Media Park for years and served as house mother for a sorority at State College. Mrs Tuton taught in Otero County and earlier owned a home in La Luz. She is survived by three children.

Edmund Benton Lewis Tl died after brief illness at his Alamogordo home last Saturday. Born August 27 1861 in Penns Manor Pennsylvania he studied at Pukskill Military Academy Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a mechanical engineer including a period with Illinois Steel and as chief consulting engineer to Thomas A Edison. Survived by widow Ethel Barrett Lewis daughter Marjorie Lewis Peters and son Edmund B D Lewis the family and town mourn his loss.
