Giant Balloon Parade Planned in El Paso on December 10
El Paso announces the first giant balloon parade in the Southwest set for 3 p m in downtown on December 10. Sponsored by the El Paso Chamber of Commerce merchants division, the $2500 event will feature a 450 foot balloon train with balloon coaches and Pullmans, balloons of pigs clowns couriers and animals, bands from the Texas College of Mines and local high schools, balloon musicians, and a route looping downtown for optimal viewing. A large crowd is expected.

Funeral Rites Held For Lon Danley In Alamogordo
Funeral services for Lon Danley Jr were held at Leadinghaus Mullins chapel conducted by Rev Jesse F Watson of Grace Methodist Church. Interment was in Mount Vista Cemetery Alamogordo. Danley known as a southern New Mexico range specialist with SCS and Grazing Service, leaves widow Nettie and four children. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and held several local leadership posts.

Aviation Cadets May Reenter Training at Air Force
Wartime qualified Aviation Cadets whose training was halted in 1944 45 may be eligible to resume flight instruction with the United States Air Force. Applicants must be American citizens aged 20 to 26 and unmarried with two years of college or test equivalency. They may be reinstated without retaking current cadet exams and will receive pay plus ration allowances during training.
