Forest Fire Near Capitan Burns 2000 Acres
A November 28 night fire 20 miles northeast of Capitan burned about 2000 acres of young timber. Eight additional fires in nearby areas followed, likely started by intentional ignition. local hunters blamed for the Capitan blaze, suspected arson. Firefighters from Capitan with help from Roswell and Carrizozo crews contained the flames.

Death of Mrs McCullough in Alamogordo
The death of Mrs Frank J McCullough a health seeker in Alamogordo occurred at her home on Saturday November 29. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev W C Taggart with interment in the local cemetery. Death was due to tuberculosis. She was 35 and came to Alamogordo with her family three years ago from Queen City Texas. She leaves a husband and one son.
