A tentative Otero County Good Will tour announced by G A Shipley will leave Alamogordo at 7 31 a m on Sept 9 and travel through La Luz High Rolls Mt Park Cloudcroft Weed Mayhill Mescalero and Tularosa. The Alamogordo school band will accompany the motorcade and literature about the fair will be distributed at each stop. The tour precedes the Sept 15 16 17 county fair.

Pioneer Woman Tempie Woodson Dies at 78
Mrs Tempie Woodson 78 died at her Texas Ave home after weeks of illness. Funeral services were held at Geren Leadinghaus chapel and interment in Weed. Born 1861 in Williamson County Texas she moved with her husband to Weed then Alamogordo in 1919. Survived by daughter Mrs Austin Reeves two sons J A Woodson Alamogordo and J F Woodson Wilmington Calif and a brother in Descanso Cal. She was a 60 year member of the Church of Christ.

The Kid Rodeo at the ball park drew local and out of town fans for two nights under Volunteer Firemen supervision and G B Oliver arena direction. Twenty three entrants aged 16 or under competed in events with winners earning cups, saddles, boots, and other prizes from local merchants and sponsors. Dorman Bell won best all around cowboys with 260 points and Elliott Calhoun earned multiple top finishes including best stake rider and wild cow milking.
