Many are rare and well preserved from Austin coal mine and Latur Canyon shale bed dating millions of years. Paul H Nesbit of the Logan Museum Beloit College Wisconsin arrived with students to begin excavation near Alamogordo two miles southeast near the A C Dahike farm. He has prior work in Mim bres Valley France and Africa and southern New Mexico where 50 rooms at Grant county yielded Pueblo II culture with black on white and corrugated wares. Most burials were flexed with a bowl over the head. some were cremated. Nesbit plans to return for winter. Dr George L Collie may continue the work.
