Sheffers Return From Minnesota Trip

Mr and Mrs John Sheffer and their children Marguerite and Pat returned last weekend from a two week trip to Belle Plaine Minnesota where they stayed with Mrs Sheffers parents Mr and Mrs A C Hessian They were called to Albuquerque in late July by the death of Mr Sheffers father Thomas J Sheffer who died at St Josephs hospital there July 21 After services in Albuquerque they continued on to Minnesota

Mrs Nan Genta and Mrs June Rose attended the Legion Auxiliary conference for unit presidents secretaries and chairmen in Albuquerque on Saturday August 16. Enchantment of Tres Valles Flower Show in Ruidoso

USO Committee Holds Meeting at Yucca Inn

The Erie USO operating committee met at noon on Monday August 18 at the Yucca Inn. They planned a fall hospitality Day with Holloman Air Force Base and agreed to assist in the UNITED DSE FUND campaign to support servicemen. USO director W. T. Bridal couple guests of Gardners during Montana trip

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Paulson of Seattle, sister of Mrs. Gardner, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner and children last weekend. The Paulsons, married July 30 in Opheim Montana, were on a honeymoon en route to Seattle. Mrs. Gardner was matron of honor and three year old Pamela Gardner was flower girl. The Gardners returned home August 3.

Mr. Glen Morrison and his son from High Rolls visited Alamogordo last week for a Morrison reunion. Morrison, a former resident of Tularosa and High Rolls, recalled peddling vegetables and fruits through Alamogordo’s streets about 48 years ago.
