Lincoln County Historical Society presents the Day in Old Lincoln pageant on Sunday at 8 p m on an outdoor Lincoln Town stage. John Thomas of Albuquerque leads in Billy the Kid role with other Lincoln County residents in a new script by Earl Scott. Free music dancing and museum viewing start around 4 p m with $1 admission for adults and 50 cents for children.

Otero Bus Drivers Attend Institute at NMW
Ten of Otero county fourteen bus drivers attended the Bus Drivers Institute in Silver City on August 28 led by County Superintendent George T Hailey. C H Winters won second place in the Roadeo based on personality, written test and skill tests. Attendees included Floy Pace Klopfer Edward Telles Eselso Telles Alex Buckner Irvin Scott I W Dockray Mrs Kenneth Potter Don Taylor and Ray Sowell. Courses covered included first aid safety education maintenance and more with 464 drivers statewide the largest turnout to date overall attendance surpassed 600. A meeting for bus drivers is planned for August 23 at 9 00 a m at the Otero County Superintendent of Schools office in Alamogordo with an inspection of buses to meet state standards under NM State Police supervision.

Mrs Harrison's Mother Dies in Oklahoma Visit
Mrs. Harrison and her daughter Jane returned from Gentry Arkansas after funeral services for Mrs. John Taylor age 72 who died August 6 after a heart attack. Survived by six daughters and three sons, with Mr. Taylor having died in February 1949. Brother R S Taylor of Fullerton California accompanied them to Alamogordo on departure.

Policeman Roy E Bradford resigns from city force
City Manager B E Rutz announced the resignation of Roy E Bradford as city policeman last Friday. Rutz said there is no replacement in mind but will re-examine current police applications. Bradford offered no explanation, turned in his equipment, and notified Sergeant J C Danley of his departure.

GI Forum Seeks curb on speeding on Penn Avenue
Gene Hill, head of the local American GI Forum chapter, urged the City Commission to curb speeding on Pennsylvania Ave. He cited July and June police speeding and reckless driving arrests and urged greater police vigilance. City Manager Ben Rutz said a memo to police would boost enforcement on speeders, especially on Pennsylvania Ave. The forum aims to educate politically and boost voter registration and turnout, while denying partisan ties.

Concert Association Plans Campaign For Fall Drive
Otero County Community Concert association outlined membership drive plans at a Monday meeting at president Mrs. M. R. Sanguinez home. Dan King of Tul arosa led the session with group captains under Mrs. Charles E. Nelson and Mrs. W. W. Wallis in charge. A 10:30 coffee was set at Mrs. Wallis home for all captains. Rui doso is invited to join this year with a director from that city named later. The drive starts the week of September 8 with a barbecue for workers and a kickoff on the football field to be announced later this month.

New State Police Building in Alamogordo Opens
The New Mexico State Police building in Alamogordo Park is now occupied after final acceptance from the contractor. Captain E A Tafoya says the southwestern adobe‑color structure houses the radio station, living quarters for the area commander, and a small dormitory for visiting officers. A 100 ft aluminum radio tower is due Sept 1, and local crews will complete the entrance drive and landscaping. The public is invited to visit the station.

Mrs Craddock Dies in Kerrville Texas
Mrs. Mary Emma Craddock aged 90 died in Kerrville Texas after a fall caused broken hip. A former Alamogordo Carrizozo and Capitan school teacher she lived with her sister C C Merchant in Kerrville in recent years. Burial was in Kerrville on August 8 with Mr Merchant as the only close surviving relative. Mrs Merchant also injured in a recent fall but recovering. The Merchants' address is 701 Gilmer Kerrville Texas.

Two Divisions Planned for 1952 Billy the Kid Rodeo at Three Rivers
The 1952 Billy the Kid Rodeo will be held August 24 at the A B Fall arena east of Three Rivers under the Tularosa Lions Club and ranch owner T F Ryan. The show splits into Junior and Senior divisions with morning and afternoon roping and barrel events for girls, a noon barbecue, and prizes for best dressed competitors and event winners. The Senior winner advances to the El Paso Herald Post Kids Rodeo with a $50 expense prize. Blood Drive at Holloman AFB Sees 238 Donors
At Holloman Air Force Base 238 people were processed during a blood bank drive. 215 pints were collected with 39 from civilian donors, most employed on base, and 176 from military personnel. Lt. Jack Olsen announced the figures and Lt. Marland L. Whiting, in charge from Fort Bliss, praised all who assisted.

Caravan to Mon Jean August 17 Tour Passes Historic Sites
A Chamber of Commerce sponsored caravan will depart Alamogordo community center at 9:00 a.m. Sunday August 17 for Mon Jean Lookout in the Ruidoso area. Led by Dave Stephens of the Forest Service, the trip includes passes by the Dowling watermill, Old Baldy peak, the grave of Lord Cree, Eagle Creek School, a CCC memorial forest, and the Montean lookout with a possible detour to Lincoln for Day in Old Lincoln festival. Participants bring picnics and lunch at Bonita Lake around 1:00 p.m. The event is organized with Lincoln National Forest cooperation.
