Fair County Fair Opens With Rabbits and New Contests

Saturnino Ortega Dies Of Illness In El Paso
Saturnino Ortega 73 respected Mexican immigrant died August 8 in El Paso after eight months illness from cancer. Funeral services were held August 5 under Leadinghaus-Mlullins with Rev. Oscar Hill and Rev. Stump officiating. Pallbearers included Ishmael Ortega Las Vegas Jose Romero and others. Interment Monte Vista cemetery. Survived by widow five children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born San Miguel del Mesquital Zacatecas Mexico emigrated to Orogrande 1911 then Alamogordo 1924. Former Southwest Lumber Co. mechanic and longtime Spanish Baptist treasurer. Friends came from Las Vegas El Paso Alamogordo for services.
