At 6:30 pm on Thursday September 16 1943 Miss Blanche Bultman and Donald Boetger were married in a double ring rite at the bride’s parents home in Akron. Rev Sven son officiated. The bridal party wore formal attire and a buffet supper followed for about thirty guests. The couple, longtime local residents, are respected in the community and begin married life on the farm and nearby residence line.

Charles Hummel, longtime resident of Union County Iowa and Plymouth County Iowa, died of a heart attack at his Sioux City home on September 21 1943 aged 68. Born June 4 1875 he lived in Westfield Akron Jefferson Elk Point and Sioux City. He married Eliza English in 1902. Survived by wife son Albert four brothers four sisters and one granddaughter. Funeral held at Christy chapel Sioux City with Elk Point Masonic lodge conducting graveside rites in Riverside cemetery Akron.

Aged resident Albert W Lake dies after illness
Albert William Lake aged 74 years 6 months 2 days died September 23 1943 at his son Arvel E Lake’s home in Akron Iowa after a long illness. Born March 21 1869 in Marion County Missouri he married Katharine Gross in 1891 and they had nine children. Survived by wife two children deceased siblings and a large extended family. He was a charter member and elder and Sunday school superintendent of Mt Sinai Christian church in Missouri. He lived mostly in Missouri before ten years with his son in Quincy Illinois.
