An interurban trolley wreck between Bluffton and Fort Wayne claims fifty-two lives. A regular car from Bluffton and a Fort Wayne motor car collided near Kingsland as both approached at noon. Exact cause unknown. one car carried passengers, the other was empty.
President Taft withdrew about 70 388 acres of lands from entry in California Colorado and Montana for public use. California lands along the East Walker river total about 1327 acres and may serve power development. Colorado lands in Glenwood Springs district amount to about 69056 acres and are coal lands. Montana lands totaling 290 036 acres within the Northern Pacific Railway grant were added to the taxable area after being clear lasted by the department of the interior, located in Helena Lewiston and Miles City land districts.
Up to date 1 250 banks across states have applied to the post office department to be designated depositors for postal savings funds and 648 postmasters have requested the establishment of postal savings banks in their offices.
