Indianapolis veteran killed by shell in home burial at legion post
Frank M. Kinne of Indianapolis survived World War I battles but was near fatally wounded by a three inch shell he had brought home from France. He had demonstrated unloading shells in an exhibition squad, and while unloading the souvenir shell his house was wrecked. His mother and sister escaped injury upstairs. The local American Legion post gave him a military burial after his discharge from the army.

Storm kills four head of Zoll horses in Hanover
Four head of good horses owned by William Zoll of Hanover were killed by upturning during a recent storm. A poultry horse of Thomas Whannel south of Gledbrook was raided by thieves who took 250 of his checkers leaving twenty five. The cornerstones of the new Task ion Lutheran church were sold at Glenwood. The new structure will cost 40000 dollars. Rev. Charles Pederson is the pastor. Jake Luienberg, a farmer, hanged himself in the hay mow of his barn four miles north of Sheldon, saving his wife and two children. No reason is known for the act. Mary Chukker, 7, daughter of Mr and Mrs J J Chukker, was instantly killed when struck by the Rock Island train at Waterloo while playing on the tracks.
