Hobby- ? Walkow, a farmer from rural Sa City, has handbuilt clocks since 1946. He completed an 84 inch great grandfather clock, an 81 inch grandfather clock, and a 75 inch grandmother clock, with plans for a 65 inch granddaughter clock, all featuring walnut or mahogany wood and intricate spiral carvings.

Hearing on Sioux Falls radar closure to be held in Sioux Falls
Northwest Iowa residents are invited to a 1:30 p.m. October 6 field hearing at the Ramada Inn in Sioux Falls on closing the Sioux Falls weather radar. Civil Defense officials warn of a 10,000 square mile coverage gap across four states if the radar closes, with regional stations in Huron Grand Island Des Moines and Minneapolis filling only part of the gap.
