American Legion Editor Quits Front to March in War
A. W. C. L. Walter Neubert editor of the Service Star official publication of the American Legion in Montana left his post to join front line fighting. He rode through the St Mihiel drive and Argonne battles, faced arrest and court martial, was reduced to private, then served postwar in Coblenz as antotype operator on the Amaroc News. Neubert later became president of Great Falls Typographical Union and adjutant of the Great Falls American Legion post.
