Bill Kelley and G H Schafer left with Hawarden party for a Lakes trip. Mike Russell and family from Brunsville visited Joe Westover Sunday. P C C C met at the Westover home Tuesday. New Century club met at Mrs. Johnson’s for the first time with a light lunch after the business meeting. Frank Vogelzang and family Mrs H J Schumacher and Mrs Jake Vogelzang were Sioux City visitors Tuesday.

The Spink 4-H Baby Beef club held its annual Achievement Day on September 3 at the Lincoln Tweet farm in Spink, South Dakota. Calf judging by Rob inson of Sioux City crowned Alfred Huls with first and second prizes, including Grand Champion for his top Shorthorn. Marvin Staum earned first and second in Hereford, with other placings for Lewellyn Solem Eldon Koplin and Robert Anderson. A showmanship contest crowned Chester Lundgren first. a noon picnic preceded speaking and demonstrations, then parents defeated club members in kittenball. Additional local visits include numerous relatives stopping at various homes and exchanges around the area.
