Lillian Brown Gorney born September 21 1994 in Adaville Iowa daughter of Marvin and Ida Brown moved to Artesian South Dakota in 1904 later to Akron with grandparents Kanage Sr. She married Anthony Gorney in 1942 in Chicago and returned to Akron in 1968. Survived by relatives including Mrs Lester Brown Wendell Hodson Hazel Brown Mrs Walter Young and Glen Kanage. Funeral services conducted at Schroeder Funeral Chapel and in Chicago with burial at Mt Emblem Cemetery.

Gordon Kilstrom Dies In Auto Crash Near Mento Iowa
Gordon Carl Kilstrom 54 of Akron Iowa died after an auto crash along Interstate 80 near Mento Iowa on August 28 1972. Born October 16 1917 in Chicago he served in the Philippines during World War II and later worked for Gassman Motor Co and Farm Bureau Insurance. Surviving are his wife Marian and three children Marsha Kent and Steven. Funeral services were held at Immanuel Church Akron with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Active pallbearers and honorary bearers were named. military rites conducted by American Legion Hoschler Post 186.

Governor Ray to Break Ground in Remsen Industrial Park
The Iowa governor Robert D. Ray will break ground for the first Remsen Industrial Park building on Thursday September 7 1972 at 4 00 pm. Erected by Remsen Development Corporation on land donated by the city the new facility will house Mid-Sioux Opportunity Inc a community action agency serving five northwest Iowa counties. The grant supported by the Office of Economic Opportunity funds an industrial developer and staff to aid local growth in community improvement employment housing youth programs and dropouts assistance.
