Stella, fed up with her husband Bill's temper in their three room flat, leaves a note and plans to flee. At 2:15 pm she writes and returns at 3:15 pm to see his reaction. Fearing his potential violence or despair, she contemplates calamity but finds the note untouched on the dressing table, delaying her drastic exit to avoid a grim outcome.
