Westfield Community Notes for October Church Clean Up

Stamp Ceremony Planned in Sioux City for Savings Bond Observance

A planning committee in Sioux City outlines a October 26 dedication for the Servicemins Savings Bond stamp. Postmaster Dan Murphy invites area week schools to participate in a patriotic parade led by Naval Recruiting Office Chief Richard Crowley. Jr High Campfire Girls Meet Reports Dues and Plans

On October Sh 1966 the Jr High Campfire Girls met at Marvin Zinns with Deborah Palmer conducting. The treasurer reported dues totaling 4 48 and gifts were collected for the gift pair to Viet Nam. They discussed the Candy Sale starting October 25 and the Hul laballoo. A Chili Supper is planned for November 8 with Nettie Goudge serving hinch and Debbie Gustafson to have the honors next week.

Campfire Girls Meet at Mrs Hull Home

aA-NAH-WE Campfire Girls met at Mrs Hull's home on a Friday in October. Nine girls answered roll call and recited the Pledge and Desire. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. After business, we designed our headbands. Teresa Erks brought treats. Meeting adjourned.

Farmers for Wiley Mayne meet to plan campaign

Roger Easton presided as chair of Farmers for Wiley Mayne in Merrill City Hall October 8 with Plymouth County farmers and wives to back Mayne for 6th District congressman against Stanley Greigg in the November 8 election. A vigorous campaign was planned. Ma-KeGa Campfire Girls met October 4 at Allen Vander Helms with roll calls on favorite dogs, hike to big ditches, symbols, and notes on Breasts, gifts from Glenda Gilmore, Nancy Miller as scribe. Mayne assails Greigg deficit spending at Sioux City luncheon

Mayne, a Republican candidate for the sixth district, called congressman Stanley Greigg “Public spender Number One” at a Sioux City Exchange Club event. He cited a National Associated Businessmen report labeling Greigg as having zero spending restraint and warned of higher prices and a pocketbook impact if Greigg remains in office.

Cub Scout Den Four Meeting Notes at Zinns

Four Cub Scout Den 4 met on Thursday October 6 at Zinns. They discussed fire escape plans and planned a skit for the pack meeting at the Legion Hall on the fourth Monday in October. Masson Thorson and Chief Denny contributed ideas for quick results.
