Attack on Dry Law Drives Formation of Prohibition Repeal Group

Capt. William H Stayton directs the Association Against the Prohibition Amendment in a national drive to repeal the Volstead act. By October 4 he plans a Chicago visit and has organized state chapters across Ohio Minnesota Indiana Iowa Missouri and numerous others. The group seeks a convention to elect officers and push a plan to remove prohibition from the constitution. Membership is open to men and women at $1 a year with notable backers including Stuyvesant Fish Irvin S Cobb and Kerwin Roosevelt among others.

Tinaha Packing plant employees nationwide will cast ballots next Saturday on a strike to prevent wage cuts. J. W. Burna of Omaha, secretary of district council No. 5 of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America, announced the plan.
