Plymouth county chapter of the American Cancer Society met Monday November 14 in Le Mars with 12 members present. Mrs Robert Pratt presided and Rev A D Imbrock offered the invocation. Pratt reported inservice training for area nurses and nursing home staff at Westmar College on October 4 and six more sessions planned in Iowa this year. A health program kit for K-3 pupils titled An Early Start to Good Health was discussed as available through area education agency 12. Peter VanderMeer Jr. reported one financial aid request and one hospital bed loan. Dave Albert noted the Des Moines state annual meeting results October 21–22 and Gilbert Winter announced the Great American Smoke Out on November 17 with local businesses Jake’s Pizza and KLEM promoting non smoking.
