In the general election a record vote over 10,000 was cast in Plymouth county. Akron tally reached 689 with all Democrat county candidates re elected. Gustave Alesch won state representative race over E O Thorson by a few hundred. Also notes on births, marriages, and local events dated November 1934.
Crivel shipments from Big Sioux Gravel Co. yard reached 182 carloads for October. Hallowe'en vandalism caused minimal property damage in town. In the 1924 national election Snolidee and Dawes won nationally with Davis and La Follette losing except in the solid South. Local births announced: Burn-Ason, Avion, p624, and a daughter to Powers, Zike. Car accident injured Juluus Mouse and V F Rossaw attended Pocahontas.

Mrs. Willer, whose husband Mr. Willer died last July, hosted the event and plans to live on the farm. Ivan Frahm provided gas for the operation.
The Cancer Prevention Study marks its fifth year of a six year program. Plymouth county with sixty volunteers contributes under ten group leaders led by Mrs. R C Hodgson. Project began October 1959 and will finish next fall with cooperation from over a thousand counties. Professor Robert Herrick of Westmar College serves as county coordinator.
The LeMars Jaycees sponsor a second mass oral polio vaccination in Plymouth County on Sunday November 15 at craft distribution centers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locations include Remsen LeMars Akron Merrill Kingsley Tinton Westfield and Brunsville. Those who had the first dose urged to return. others may receive it. A 75 cent donation is requested.
