Miner Shoots at Theater Entrance Over Smoking Dispute

A miner fired a revolver at the Wallace opera house Monday night after a quarrel over smoking in the gallery. Policeman Rose confronted him as patrons left. Dr. Fims was wounded while escorting a woman, and Cuif died when officers arrived. Several others injured in the crush.

Baldwin to Testify Before Grand Jury in Missouri Scandal

Evelyn Baldwin the Arctic explorer has arrived in St Louis en route to Jefferson City to appear before a grand jury. Duel in Perth Amboy ends with Gondus mortally stabbed

In a Perth Amboy boarding house dining room Stephen Gondus and Peter Shylak fought over a woman. Shylak locked the door and attacked with a curved knife and fork, wounding Gondus fatally before being stopped by a policeman on the stair. Fire destroys Grange block in Olathe Kansas

A four story Grange block on the principal street in Olathe was totally destroyed by a Saturday night fire. The Grange auditorium hotel store and offices were damaged. A play was in progress when the blaze started and a panic was narrowly avoided. Fire was under control by 12 15 a m with an estimated loss of 2000000. No injuries reported. Nearby buildings damaged. William Notter committed suicide by jumping from a St Paul bridge into the Mississippi River. He drove a stylish rig to the bridge before leaping. He formerly lived in Winnipeg. No motive given.

Gypsy Prince Murdered In Alton Night Attack

Gypsy prince Ne ero Cooper aged 00 was stabbed through the heart and robbed under an electric light in Alton Illinois Sunday night. Police aided by Gypsy band members and bloodhounds search for the assailant described as a negro. Cooper has two nephews and a sister in law named Wells.

W. L. Hay and his wife celebrated their fifty fifth wedding anniversary in Iowa Falls. Mr. Hay, born in Boston, and Mrs. Hay, born in Londonderry, NW, moved west in 1855 and to Iowa Falls in 1882. They raised a family of eight with six surviving children. both are 79 and 76, still active at home with Mrs. Hay managing household duties. A separate fatal train accident occurred near Dow Molinos when Leander Hicks fell from a Wabash train and died, while farmer Ash lost both legs in a collision and was taken to Des Moines for hospitalization.

ELOPERS ARRESTED IN CENTERVILLE CASE OF 16 YEAR OLD GIRL

Dr C J Lawrence a 67 year old physician was arrested in Centerville for eloping with Rose Dixon the 16 year old daughter of Joseph Dixon of Trussels. Boy Wounded for Life in Dog Attack

Ten year old Qawin Boody was wounded when a vicious dog mauled him at Kort Dodge. The right side of the neck and left cheek were torn, requiring seven stitches to close the gash. The victim faces lifelong injuries from the attack.
