Girl Scout troop 118 watched two movies and a puppet show about the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund. Juliette Low founded girl scouting in the United States and her birthday is October 31. Margaret Hartman celebrates 95th birthday with friends

Mrs. Margaret Hartmann of the Akron nursing home marked the 95th birthday with about 180 friends and relatives, coffee and cake, and greetings. Family members assisted by Sue Mortensen and Mavis Bye served guests while Minnie Pollock registered arrivals. all children attended except Ray Hartmann of Boulder, Colorado, due to a business commitment. Mr. Hartmann visited Tuesday, and Mrs. Hartmann called the day God given with many good friends.

Airman Valerie M. Former resident reigns king of homecoming

Tim Andresen a Moon Valley high senior from Phoenix crowned homecoming king on Oct. 21. He leads Moon Valley Rockets as tailback with 448 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, returns kicks and punts, and plays defense. The team starts strong and aims to finish first in Skyline B while ranking in state top ten. Andresen is son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hegi and the late Eli Andresen. First Graders Visit Nursing Home for Halloween Party

First grade students at Akron Community School under Mrs. Susan Brown and Don Krukow visited a local nursing home for a Halloween afternoon. The children entertained residents who handed out treats. The event was planned at last month’s council meeting. Two unplanned incidents occurred when children lost teeth while eating popcorn or apples.
