King Frederick VII of Denmark Dies After Visit

Hamburg dispatch reports King Frederick VII arrived at the Homburghof hotel Monday and died suddenly this morning. Proclaimed king on January 30, 1906 after Christian IX’s death, he was famed for culture and philanthropy, served as chancellor of Copenhagen University, led Danish Freemasonry, and reformed the army. He was born in Copenhagen on June 3, 1843 and was dean among Europe’s crowned heads.

Five Hurt in Fremont Auto Crashes Near Cedar Bluffs

In two nearly simultaneous crashes near Cedar Bluffs Fremont Nebraska five people were injured. Hans Pagler’s car rolled over injuring Pagler with a head wound and five rib fracture to Jacob Kimble. Back seat occupant Fret Demns was bruised. A second crash hit a buggy driven by Mrs Krause and Mrs McGinn. Mrs McGinn lost part of her left ear and had three ribs broken while Mrs Krause broke her collar bone.
